Commission Rules and Info
Thank you so much for taking an interest in commissioning me! Before you submit your request, please refer to below.
This is my first time opening commissions, and I've noticed every artist tends to do things their own way, so here is how I'm doing it:
-
I don't usually time how long a piece takes me so I don't currently feel the need to charge by that, so I'm charging my pieces a little differently.
-
Because more detail and a longer/wider canvas orientation involves more work, I have chosen to charge more for these accordingly.
-
I also charge differently on how much of the characters are shown, focusing on whether the piece is above or below the knee. I do this because I feel that my creativity is too limited by sticking to the typical "bust", "half shot", and "full shot" that is typical for most artists that work in the digital medium, in order to make an interesting piece according to my style.
-
I list my pricings in USD.
Important things to note:
-
I am willing to work with you on any specific canvas proportion to your liking (this is especially shown in my examples of the landscape orientated pieces below. I am willing to adjust my composition to your needs). Currently, the size does not matter to my pricing - only the amount of detail, orientation of the canvas, and the amount of the characters shown currently affect my pricing.
-
My pricing and overall way of doing commissions will likely change in the future as I gain more trust between myself and my clients, and feel that my talents have developed further where it would be reasonable to charge more.
-
I complete commissions as soon as I possibly can, but you will be placed in a queue if I am not able to get to you at that time. As I reach your request, I will provide you with a sketch of the overall composition, then be able to tell you an estimate of when I will be able to complete it! In the meantime, thank you for your patience.
-
I hope to one day be able to ship out physical copies of your commissions, but at this current moment it will only have to be digital. I will be looking into this in the near future, but this factor may affect pricings.
Rules:
-
I have the right to deny any request
-
In order to be placed in the queue, I must approve your request and provide you with a rough sketch of the composition that you must also approve of before we continue further with your commission.
-
If I approve your request, there is a deposit fee that must be made before I continue working on your piece, as when I approve your piece, I will quickly follow up with a sketch to see if it's composition will be approved by you. The deposit fee is half of the price of the full piece, and you will be able to pay the remainder of the fee at the time of the completion of the commission. (ex: If you request a $36 commission and it is approved between the two of us, you pay $18 upfront. I return to you later with the completed piece and you pay the remaining $18, totaling together the $36 commission)
-
The deposit fee is non-refundable. This is because I have already begun the piece and will not get back the time I have spent on it.
-
I only accept payments through my Ko-fi: elsashofnersart.
